Cover Solutions ProCap BBQ covers – waterproof protection for barbecues from 110 to 160 cm wide

With a Cover Solutions ProCap BBQ cover, you protect your barbecue against rain, snow, dirt, dust and UV exposure when it is not in use. This range consists of four sizes for barbecues from 110 to 160 cm wide. The covers are 53 cm deep at the sides and H: 108 cm high. In the centre, an additional recess provides space up to 65 cm deep. This extra space is designed primarily for the protruding handle used to open the barbecue lid.

The barbecue covers are made from durable ProCap material. The inner layer is 100% polyester and the outer layer is 100% polyurethane. The covers have a waterproof construction with welded seams and are breathable and UV-resistant. This material construction protects the barbecue against different weather conditions and helps reduce condensation underneath the cover.

Which size BBQ cover do you need?

The total width of your barbecue provides the first indication of whether you need size S, M, L or XL. Always measure from the furthest protruding point on the left to the furthest protruding point on the right. Include fixed side tables, side burners and other protruding parts.

Next, check the depth. The ProCap BBQ covers are 53 cm deep at the sides. On many gas barbecues, these are the areas where the fixed or folded side tables are located.

The centre section of the cover has additional depth. Here, a recess provides 65 cm of depth. This space is primarily intended for the barbecue lid handle, which on many models protrudes further forward than the rest of the barbecue.

A handle that extends beyond 53 cm therefore does not automatically mean that the cover will not fit. Check that the main body and side sections of your barbecue fit within the 53 cm depth and that the protruding handle fits within the central 65 cm depth.

  • Size S: 119 × 53 H: 108 cm – recommended for barbecues 110–119 cm wide
  • Size M: 129 × 53 H: 108 cm – recommended for barbecues 120–129 cm wide
  • Size L: 139 × 53 H: 108 cm – recommended for barbecues 130–139 cm wide
  • Size XL: 160 × 53 H: 108 cm – recommended for barbecues 140–160 cm wide

Important when checking the depth: the stated 53 cm is the depth at the sides of the cover. In the centre, the cover extends further forward and the recess provides space up to 65 cm deep for a protruding BBQ lid handle.

The stated dimensions already include 1–3 cm of built-in clearance in length and width. You do not need to add this clearance to the measurements of your barbecue. The built-in clearance makes the cover easier to put on without unnecessarily stretching the material.

How to measure your barbecue for the correct protective cover

First measure the maximum width of the complete barbecue. Then measure the depth of the side sections from front to back. Include fixed side tables, side burners, control knobs and other protruding parts.

Measure the lid handle separately. On many barbecues, this handle protrudes further forward than the rest of the barbecue. The ProCap cover therefore has additional space in the centre. While the sides are 53 cm deep, the centre section provides space up to 65 cm deep.

Does your barbecue have folding side tables? Measure it in the position in which you intend to cover it. If the side tables will be folded down underneath the cover, measure the barbecue with the side tables in that position.

Do not only check the maximum depth of your barbecue; also check where the deepest point is located. If only the central lid handle protrudes further forward, the additional space in the centre of the cover can accommodate it.

How important is the height?

The covers are H: 108 cm high. The barbecue itself may be taller than 108 cm because the cover does not need to reach all the way to the ground. A 10–20 cm gap between the bottom of the cover and the ground supports air circulation and helps reduce condensation underneath the cover.

S, M, L or XL: which BBQ cover fits your barbecue?

A barbecue 110–119 cm wide falls within the recommended range for size S. For a width of 120–129 cm, size M is the first size to check. Barbecues 130–139 cm wide fall within the range for size L, while size XL is available for models 140–160 cm wide.

If your barbecue is close to the boundary between two sizes, do not automatically choose the larger cover. Compare the actual width and shape of the barbecue with both sizes first. An unnecessarily large cover leaves more loose material, while a cover that is too small may be placed under excessive tension.

ProCap material: waterproof, breathable and UV-resistant

A good barbecue cover needs to do more than keep out direct rain. Moisture underneath the cover also requires attention. ProCap therefore combines an outer layer of 100% polyurethane with a breathable inner layer of 100% polyester.

The BBQ cover has a waterproof construction with welded seams. This prevents rainwater from entering through conventional stitched seams. At the same time, the breathable material helps moisture escape and reduces condensation underneath the protective cover.

Ventilation remains important during long-term outdoor use. Preferably place the cover over a dry barbecue and regularly check whether moisture has collected underneath it. Air the barbecue and cover during dry weather when necessary.

Protection against sun and different weather conditions

A barbecue kept permanently outdoors is exposed to more than rain. Snow, dirt, dust and prolonged exposure to sunlight can also affect the barbecue. ProCap material is therefore designed for long-term outdoor use and is UV-resistant.

The protective cover creates a practical barrier between the barbecue and the elements when the barbecue is not in use. This helps keep it cleaner and reduces the amount of dirt, leaves and dust that need to be removed before its next use.

Antibacterial and tested according to OEKO-TEX® Standard 100

The ProCap material has antibacterial properties and has been tested according to OEKO-TEX® Standard 100. ProCap protective covers are manufactured in Europe according to established quality standards.

Drawstring for a neat and secure fit

A drawstring runs around the lower edge of the BBQ cover. This allows you to tighten the cover around the barbecue. It provides a neater fit and helps prevent the lower edge from lifting easily in normal wind conditions.

Always check the cover and its fastening when strong winds or storms are expected. On an exposed patio, balcony or other windy location, considerably greater forces can act on the protective cover.

Which barbecues are ProCap covers suitable for?

ProCap BBQ covers are suitable for various freestanding gas barbecues, grill carts and similar barbecues that fit within the available dimensions. The actual external dimensions and shape of the barbecue are more important than its brand or model.

Pay particular attention to fixed side tables, side burners and handles. These parts determine the overall width and depth of many gas barbecues. The sides of the cover are 53 cm deep. In the centre, additional space provides up to 65 cm of depth for the protruding lid handle.

This shape is practical because the central lid handle on many barbecues protrudes further forward than the side sections. The barbecue therefore does not need to be a maximum of 53 cm deep across its entire width if only the central handle protrudes further.

Using your BBQ cover safely

Only place the protective cover over a barbecue that is switched off, completely cool and dry. The grill, lid, side burner or other components can remain hot for some time after use. Wait until all parts have cooled completely.

Keep the protective cover away from open flames and direct heat sources. Always remove the BBQ cover completely before lighting or using the barbecue.

Maintaining your ProCap BBQ cover

  • Preferably place the cover over a clean, dry and completely cool barbecue
  • Remove surface dirt with lukewarm water and a soft cloth or brush
  • The protective cover can be washed at a maximum of 30 °C when necessary
  • Do not use aggressive cleaning agents, bleach or solvents
  • Allow the cover to dry completely before putting it back on or storing it
  • Avoid contact with sharp edges and protruding parts that could damage the material

Frequently asked questions about ProCap BBQ covers

Which BBQ cover do I need for a barbecue that is 115 cm wide?

A barbecue 115 cm wide falls within size S based on its width. This protective cover measures 119 × 53 H: 108 cm and is suitable for barbecues 110–119 cm wide. Also check the depth of the side sections and the position of the protruding lid handle.

Which cover fits a barbecue that is 125 cm wide?

A barbecue 125 cm wide falls within the range for size M. This cover measures 129 × 53 H: 108 cm. Also check that the side sections of the barbecue fit within 53 cm depth and that a protruding central handle fits within the 65 cm recess.

Which BBQ cover fits a barbecue that is 135 cm wide?

For a barbecue 135 cm wide, size L is the first size to check. Size L measures 139 × 53 H: 108 cm and is suitable for barbecues 130–139 cm wide.

Which size is suitable for a barbecue that is 150 cm wide?

A barbecue 150 cm wide falls within the range for size XL. This protective cover measures 160 × 53 H: 108 cm and is suitable for barbecues 140–160 cm wide.

Can I choose the correct BBQ cover based on width alone?

No. The width indicates which size is likely to fit, but the depth and shape of your barbecue are also important. The cover is 53 cm deep at the sides. In the centre, there is a recess providing up to 65 cm of depth for the protruding barbecue lid handle.

My barbecue is more than 53 cm deep at its deepest point. Will the cover fit?

That depends on where the deepest point is located. If the side sections of your barbecue are no more than 53 cm deep and mainly the central lid handle protrudes further forward, the cover may still fit. The centre provides space up to 65 cm deep for this protruding handle.

What is the extra space in the centre of the BBQ cover for?

On many gas barbecues, the lid handle protrudes further forward than the rest of the barbecue. The centre section of the ProCap BBQ cover is therefore shaped with additional depth. While the sides are 53 cm deep, the centre provides space up to 65 cm deep.

Is a ProCap BBQ cover waterproof?

Yes. These ProCap BBQ covers have a waterproof construction with welded seams. The outer layer is made from 100% polyurethane. The breathable polyester inner layer helps moisture escape and reduces condensation underneath the cover.

Why is breathable material important for a barbecue cover?

Temperature differences can cause condensation to form underneath a protective cover. The breathable ProCap material helps moisture escape and reduces condensation. Regular ventilation and checking for moisture remain recommended during long-term outdoor use.

How much extra room does the BBQ cover have?

The stated dimensions include 1–3 cm of built-in clearance in length and width. You do not need to add this clearance to your barbecue measurements. The centre section is also shaped with additional depth for the protruding barbecue lid handle.

Can I put the BBQ cover over a warm barbecue?

No. Allow the barbecue and all its components to cool completely first. Only put the protective cover on once the barbecue is cool and dry. Remove the cover completely before using the barbecue again.

Can a ProCap BBQ cover remain outside all year round?

ProCap material is designed for long-term outdoor use and protects against rain, snow, dirt and UV exposure. Check the cover and barbecue regularly and provide additional ventilation during dry periods if moisture has formed underneath the cover.

Which Cover Solutions ProCap BBQ cover do you need?

Size Cover dimensions Centre depth at handle Recommended barbecue width
CS-BBQ-S119 119 × 53 H: 108 cm 65 cm 110–119 cm
CS-BBQ-M129 129 × 53 H: 108 cm 65 cm 120–129 cm

CS-BBQ-XL160 160 × 53 H: 108 cm 65 cm 140–160 cm

Important when checking the depth: the 53 cm stated in the dimensions is the depth at the sides of the cover. In the centre, the cover is 65 cm deep. This additional space is designed for the protruding BBQ lid handle.

Measuring advice: always measure the maximum width of your barbecue and the depth of the side sections. Also measure how far the BBQ lid handle protrudes forward. The side sections must fit within the 53 cm depth of the cover. The protruding handle can fit within the 65 cm deep centre section.

The cover is H: 108 cm high. The barbecue itself may be taller than 108 cm. The cover does not need to reach the ground. A 10–20 cm gap between the bottom of the cover and the ground supports air circulation and helps reduce condensation underneath the cover.

Does your barbecue have folding side tables? Measure them in the position in which you intend to cover the barbecue.

The dimensions already include 1–3 cm of built-in clearance in length and width. You do not need to add this extra room to the measured dimensions of your barbecue.

BBQ cover for large gas barbecues 140–160 cm wide

The Cover Solutions CS-BBQ-XL160-Grey is the widest size in the CS-BBQ series. Measuring 160 × 53 H: 108 cm, this grey BBQ cover is designed for large gas barbecues and grill carts 140–160 cm wide. The cover is 53 cm deep at the sides and provides up to 65 cm of depth in the centre for the protruding BBQ lid handle.

Before ordering, check the full external dimensions of your barbecue. Measure the maximum width from left to right, followed by the depth of the side sections from front to back. Separately measure how far the BBQ lid handle protrudes forward.

When does the XL160 fit? A barbecue measuring, for example, 156 × 52 cm falls within the size range of the CS-BBQ-XL160 based on these dimensions. Are the side sections no more than 53 cm deep, but does the central handle protrude further forward? The handle can then fit within the deeper centre section, which provides 65 cm of depth.

How much extra clearance should you allow? You do not need to add any extra centimetres yourself. The CS-BBQ-XL160 already has 1–3 cm of built-in clearance in length and width. This extra room is already incorporated into the cover dimensions and makes the cover easier to put on and remove.

Is your BBQ close to 160 cm wide? Measure carefully from the furthest point on the left to the furthest point on the right. Include fixed side tables, side burners, control panels and other protruding components when determining the total width.

Why is the overall width so important with large BBQs? The central grill body may, for example, be 120 cm wide, while fixed side tables or side burners can increase the overall width to 150–160 cm. Base your size choice on the complete barbecue, not just the central grilling area.

Does your barbecue have folding side tables? Measure the BBQ in the position in which you intend to cover it. Folding the side tables down can significantly reduce the overall width and may affect which cover size is most suitable.

Can your BBQ be taller than H: 108 cm? Yes. The cover is H: 108 cm high, but the barbecue itself may be taller. A 10–20 cm gap between the bottom of the cover and the ground supports air circulation and helps reduce condensation underneath the cover.

Is your BBQ deeper than 53 cm? This does not automatically mean that the XL160 will not fit. The sides of the cover are 53 cm deep. In the centre, the cover extends further forward and provides 65 cm of depth for the protruding BBQ lid handle. Therefore, pay particular attention to where the deepest point of your barbecue is located.

Example with a BBQ measuring 155 × 56 cm: this barbecue may fit if the side sections are no more than 53 cm deep and the additional 56 cm depth is caused by the central BBQ lid handle. If the 56 cm depth occurs at a side table or another side section, that part exceeds the available side depth of 53 cm.

Not sure whether the shape of your large BBQ will fit the XL160? Use our product finder and compare the maximum external dimensions and shape of your barbecue with the available BBQ covers.
